 This piece gives reinforcement to staccato. It is broken into two sections: the forte (and Major) section, and the piano (and primarily minor) section.

Teaching Tips

 Make sure students are very clear on where there are ties in the left hand. Also, the last two measures have two larger jumps for the hands. Students may have some trouble with this, as they do not occur at the same time. M. 13-16 there is an alternation between A-flat and A-natural in the right and left hands. This may cause some confusion, so be sure to point these things out.
